Paul Manafort joined the Trump campaign in March 2016. Two months later he was promoted to campaign chairman. He resigned August 19, 2016, after the New York Times reported $12.7 million in undisclosed cash payments from Yanukovych's pro-Russian party. He was later convicted on eight counts. He was pardoned before his sentence was completed.
